Brothel, avoid. I have to meet at least characters to tell you this place is a seedy brothel. O'Malleys is really Irish in name only apart from a few Irish themed posters and a shirt on the wall.
It has plenty of screens so a good venue for watching sport. It is also quite spacious although being underground a bit poorly lit. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't sample it, however, if just drinking they are very generous with the snacks, so if visiting for a drink before eating, beware. All the bar staff were helpful and friendly and on the whole we enjoyed our visits there. The visit to the Irish bar was a disappointment. Nothing great to write home on the ambience, seating rather badly arranged, frequented by men mostly, average music and limited choice of pub food.
The place gives an impression of a cheap bar. Given a choice I would never go back again. Went there to watch the Aus' v SA and had an excellent time. Had a chicken burger which was good pub food and a few beers which were very cold. The staff were good and so was the atmosphere. Loved the visit yesterday. Had lunch with an old friend. I had the beef burger and my friend had the fried fish.
It's perfect for a quiet lunch away from all the noise and people - there was hardly anyone around It was one of those places that are welcoming and homely. A typically decorated Irish pub with a dance floor and and band provision at one end that I assumed was for the evening.
Courteous staff. However the place does close down for 3 pm and then reopens in the evening. The food was just brilliant. Huge serving. Really hot that home-made "mama's cooking" feel to it.
