I stayed in this hotel for business reasons for 2 nights in May I booked because of its location. At our arrival we me and my colleagues saw it was very average hotel, not worth the money 75,00 EUR a person, bed and breakfast.
My room was very small, window gave to a very small courtyard, very dark and no airconditioning. Definitely not a place for claustrophobic person. The worse thing: the shower in the bathroom had only extremely hot water, so I complained to the reception.
They said they would fix it, but they did nothing. So I had to take a shower in my colleague's room!! Otherwise I would have been 3 days without showering. The breakfast was the worse I ever had in all the hotels l've been staying in. Coffee, tea and a pair of industrial cakes you can buy in the store for 2,00 EUR a package of ten! No ham, cheese, cornflakes, yoghurt or other usual breakfast stuff. Oh, another suprise: afetr the first day we realised that this hotel is visited also by prostitutes and their clients!
What more can l say? We booked the hotel before arriving in Trieste, but on our arrival, the reception manager said he could not find a record of our reservation. He still arranged a room for us, but it was a room that had an interior window into an air shaft. It was quite dark, and it was very difficult to get any air circulation.
Meanwhile, all of the other rooms in the hotel were empty! The bed was very uncomfortable While the hotel is in a great location, right near the train station, I would not stay here again. Although a fascinating, multicultural, literate city that is packed full of contentious and intriguing history and politics; a place located in a stunning setting; and a transport node sited supremely well for onward travel to Slovenia and Croatia, Trieste isn't a tourist destination and therefore, isn't well served by hotels.
